The Show Is Over.....

Ending The Adventure

As you are the One was stated in The Matrix, that’s the way I feel about this movie, it is the one for me. This is my favorite movie of all times. I think the Wachowski brothers really did it up on this movie. So I went did a little more research on this movie, here is some more information that I found out about some likes and dislikes.

Early Review

Murray, Matt. "The Matrix." Cornponeflicks. unknown. 24 Feb 2009 .

Matt Murray’s review said that he found it somewhat underwhelming , he stated it is pulp science fiction churned into a comic book blender, with a liberal helping of kung fu flavor and relentless action. Also he states that he can’t help, but notice that almost the entire film is photographed like an extended car commercial. With this review it is also stated, The Matrix is a brilliantly- conceived and extremely memorable sci-fi action powerhouse that delivers the goods and a whole lot more. So this review is a show of a little disappointment, but also give some create to the movie.

Something New

Brevet, Brad. "Movie Review: The Matrix (1999)." 14 October 2008. ropeofsilicon.com. 5 May 2009 .

This review focuses on the ability of the Wachowski brothers, Andy and Larry, to produce another block buster like The Matrix. Or will the brothers be considered the boys that brought us bullet-time, as all their future projects will be compared to their early blockbuster The Matrix. Brad Brevet makes a good observation that you don’t need to put all your creative abilities in the first movie, then what will they have to build on when they are ready to make a sequel to a movie. Brad also states that he considers Keanu Reeves to be a wooden actor, but with this role that’s what the Wachowski brothers’ need.

The Last Statement

I’ve researched The Matrix, as a whole, learning about the actors, the plot behind the movie, and the affects that it has had on others. There were negative comments; also there were positive ones, the reviews were sometimes very self absorbed and sometimes sustaining. Now with all that I have learned about The Matrix, the ends, the outs, the ups, and the downs, I still consider this to be my favorite movie of all times.

Who Is She?....

In the movie the “Matrix”, I have chosen to write about Trinity, the backbone of Neo. She displays characteristics that a lot of women carry. Trinity displays the strength of a woman giving up what she wants to help someone else achieve what they need. She helps Neo achieve the goal that is put before him.

This is a character that Carrie-Anne Moss plays in the movie “The Matrix”. Moss was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, to a single mother. She was the younger of two children, not meeting her father until the age of fourteen. She also pursued a career in modeling in Europe, managed to get a regular role in the TV show Dark Justice, which was produced in Barcelona for the first season, and followed it to the shooting locations in Los Angeles the next year. As her career starts to grow, she receives roles in TV shows such as Models Inc. Film roles like, Suspect Zero, The Crew, Chocolat, and Memento, and then came along the “Matrix”. What a ride.

I see the character Trinity and I think “what is up with her?” What is she trying to prove? She is a strong self reliant woman, not bowing to anyone or giving in to anything. She displays an “I am not messing with you to day attitude.” Trinity, is bold and confident about who she is. Or is she? As I watch this character more, I come to realize that she is just a woman looking for what her future holds, not showing her weak side. She is a woman who is looking for something and doesn’t know what it is right now. Or she knows this is what she is looking for, but is not going to let her guard down to pursue this, lacks confidence within, but doesn’t display it. Hers is a still but full of strength quiet intensity.

After it is all said and done, Trinity is just a woman in love. The love she has for Neo overtakes her, and she loses her life in his, giving all she has to help him achieve the destiny for his life. As you consider what you have just read about Trinity, think on it in these terms; is this someone I know, or is this someone I could become? Now as you watch the Matrix take though on the strength it took for Trinity to give up her life for another.

What is Good Writing?

Within the frame work of good writing you must follow certain guide lines. Have a purpose, “what is your reasoning for writing this piece.” It must catch the interest of the reader. Know whom you are writing too, “your audience.” Then ask questions, what your reasoning for that type of audience is. In what way are the things you are writing about going to affect them. What type of respond are you looking for?

Then place facts first, next your opinions; make sure it flows so that the reader can pause from time to time to consider what they have just read. Give your writing a voice, place yourself within the writing. Read back through to see if your voice is saying what you need for it to say, also organize your thoughts don’t ramble on about something your voice is not saying. If you do start to ramble stop, look at what you have just wrote see if it holds any weight to what you are writing if not take it out, if so tie it in and connect it.

Now go through and do any revising that is necessary, making any changes to grammar, spelling, or punctuation. Rewrite it, let someone else read it. If necessary revise it again. Revise as many times as you need in order for your writing to say what you need it to say. These are the steps in which I consider good writing to fall into.

As far as my own writing, I am still a work in progress. Learning proper punctuation is my area of need. I place too many commas within my text. I need to learn the greater purpose of semicolons, and conjunctions. For the skills I obtain in this journey of writing will be used in future summaries.

Here is an example of “Good writing”, that I choose. It shows where I am at in my own writing, you know with the commas.

Dusty Books
The smell of old, dusty books reminds me of my father. An avid collector, he had many
books, most of which went unread. He owned books on everything from medicine to Vietnam to several sets of encyclopedias. When I enter one of his haunts, such as Powell’s, I am carried back to a time when the two of us were happy. I see him standing by a shelf, thumbing through a medical journal, or opening his wallet to pay for yet another purchase, knowing full well that Mom would lecture him on “wasting money on books you never read anyways!”Strolling past rows and rows of books, I remember how, after the cancer struck, he came less and less and read fewer and fewer books. They became just part of the scenery, collecting only dust and memories.

Can You Relate...

On a perfect day I know that I can count on you, when that’s not possible tell me can you weather the storm. That’s the way it starts off, needing to know if you are able to weather the storm. That’s starts off my memory of the group, “Boyz II Men “. When I hear that song it takes me back to a relationship that I should have ask that same question. It’s amazing how when you think you are going through something that no one else is going through here comes a song that tells you exactly what’s going on in your life. Well the song is “Can You Stand The Rain”, I had a time in my life when that song was my anthem. It looked like every time I thought that relationship was on solid ground, the storm would show up. You know the storm: You are not paying me any attention, why didn’t you ask me where I was going, that means you don’t care about me or you are seeing someone else. The insecurity of someone else can make a storm arise in a relationship when the sun is shinning. So I’ve learned to ask questions before I start a friendship that might turn into a relationship.

Another thing I’ve learned from “Boyz II Men“ is that you cannot return to “Yesterday”. So be careful what you say or do to others whether it’s in a relationship, friendship, associate, or just someone in passing by. Life is too short to keep worry ,strife ,grief or even what you want out of life, before making things work out with those you have made a choice to share this life with. So I’m going to leave you with these lyrics of “Boyz II Men”.

Yesterday…
All my troubles seem so far away
Now it seems as though they’re here II stay
Oh I believe in yesterday
Suddenly, I’m not half the man I use II be
There’s a shadow hanging over me
Oh yesterday came suddenly
Why she had II go, I don’t know
She wouldn’t say, she wouldn’t say
I said something worry now I long for yesterday
Yesterday…

How Do You See....

In my last post, The Matrix, I gave you a plot summary of the film. Now I would like to tell you about my intake or passion for the film. With this film I love the way it plays with the “What If” theme. Is it real, or is it false? Could it happen, Will it happen, What if it happens? My mind looks for and tries to discover the next move that the plot will unfold. I get more excited every time I watch the film. My adrenaline rises, I’m on the edge of my seat, I’m standing, I’m yelling” don’t you see what’s happening , open your minds eye and see.” Then I come down, and try to think about what I just viewed to comprehend the concept of it all.

James Berardinell ,Reelviews , states it this way, It toys with the boundaries between reality and fantasy in unique and interesting ways. It never falls into the boring, expected patterns of space battles and laser gun shoot-outs. Instead, it ventures into territory that is sufficiently interesting to provide an involving, invigorating backdrop.

It’s safe to say that we both agree that the film gives you an avenue to let your mind think outside the box of the norm.

However my frication about the film, is not taken by everyone. There are those that just don’t see it through my eyes.

Matt Murray, Cornponeflicks, states at he found it somewhat underwhelming. What’s all the hubbub, bub he asked. When this film came out, it was hailed as little short of the second coming of Mrs. Jesus H. Mohammed. That’s a little harsh isn’t it. Then he states that he can’t help, but notice that almost the entire film is photographed like an extended car commercial. Then he compares it to an expensive version of all those virtual-reality flicks that came out in the early ‘90s.

OK, I understand that you don’t like it, lighten up.

Vince Leo, Qwipster’s Reviews, say’s “The Matrix”, is a very easy film to like, perhaps easy to like too much, as there are some people who view it as an exalted religious experience. But he also says that The Matrix is a brilliantly-conceived and extremely memorable sci-fi action powerhouse that delivers the goods and a whole lot more. So there are those out there that can view the film through an critical eye, and also enjoy it at the same time.

I say OK, I can get with that. But as far as myself the passion I have for this film still stands as my adrenaline rush, my quick fix. The place I can let my mind wonder and roam on unimaginable things.

This maybe you, this may not be you.

My thing is open up your minds eye, to see outside the box. Don’t let your mind stay complacent where it is………

WOW!!! It’s action packed, dramatic, deceiving, mysterious, mind boggling, calming, unbelievable, and at times over whelming. What is it, you ask? The Matrix an unbelievable science fiction movie that hit the box offices on March 31,1999. Having a star studded cast such as Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne Carrie-Anne Moss, Joe Pantoliano, and Hugo Weaving. As you watched the film you became aware of some unnatural happening. When the movie starts you see Trinity (Moss) sitting in a room by herself with a computer in front of her, then all of a sudden the police break down the door to arrest her. As they temp to arrest her supernaturally she defeats them. As she try’s to escape other police officers an Agents a temp to capture her. She eludes them by going to the roof top of the building, and jumping from roof top to roof top , as the officers and Agent can not keep up with her, finally making her escape. As the movie continues Neo (Reeves) is a sleep at his computer, as it is searching for something, then all of a sudden it stops searching this makes Neo wake-up to see a message being typed to him. The message reveals some things that are about to take place with him. As the movie begins to reveal things, Neo receives a phone call from Morpheus (Fishburne) letting him Know about another set of events that are about to happen to him. He’s being sault after by Agents, Neo doesn’t know why they are seeking him, and he doesn’t what to know why either. So Morpheus try’s to led him out through directions from the phone. Neo makes a choice not to see the instructions through, and ends up in the Agents custody. As the plot thickens Neo finds himself being contacted by Morpheus again. When he meets Morpheus, he’s informed that it’s not Morpheus that he seeks, but a question that drives him, What is the Matrix? He was told that the Matrix was all around him, it was something that he had to see for his self. As the Matrix is revealed to him, he has trouble understanding its concepts. As he grows to understand the Matrix he comes to realize that there are some things that rely on his understanding of the Matrix. So as you watch the movie don’t be afraid to open up your mind to some things, are thoughts that might come forth. We live in a vast universe that we truly don’t understand, we have only scratched the surface of the knowledge that is out there for use.
